I trained as a dancer at English National Ballet School and was really quite good, but in the end I decided that I liked eating too much to pursue it as a career. So with a grand jete I landed in the world of advertising.
I got hired at BMB just after YouTube launched and moved to Grey in 2011, nine years and two spells of maternity leave later, I headed to The Brooklyn Brothers Offices where no sooner had I memorised the door code than the country went into lockdown. I left there to join HAVAS London where I spent two years working with Jamie Starbuck. During our time there we CD’d the many brands within the Molson Coors portfolio before working on the Department for Education, Further Education and The Open University.
Over 19 years since leaving the dance world I’ve (mostly) enjoyed working for clients that range from Global Telecomms companies to charities, with budgets from big to non-existent. And I have (always) loved making work as varied as; TV ads, to stamps, to disability Valentine’s Day Cards. As well as making work, helping to develop young teams and running placements has been something I’ve found hugely rewarding, ever since Trevor Beattie told me to never forget where you’ve come here from (big Take That fan apparently). And along with the ballet trophies up in my loft, here are some awards I’m proud to have my name on.
